On a stretch of 9th Avenue overrun with Thai restaurants (all the same owner?), a New Yorker hungry for southern fried chicken might feel like all hope is lost. Not so! Open from 12-9 daily, Piece of Chicken serves premade breasts, thighs, legs and chicken livers, complimented by a slew of traditional sides, including macaroni and cheese, rice and beans, etc. There's very little space for eating inside, so unless it's warm weather, plan to take out and enjoy your little pieces of cheap food heaven from the comfort of your own home.
