Lots Food - Old School

This is the kind of throw-back, old school kind of place that you would walk past without another thought. But, I've tried all of the other diners in the neighborhood and this is the best by far. The booths are kind a small, the place is a bit run down but the food is great and the restaurant has tons of character - just like the staff! On any given day, you'll see the local old folks going in for an early dinner (4 pm!) and a young college couple on their first date sitting in a booth at the window.
The food itself is has the unpolished, old school kind of feel. You just know that the cooks in the kitchen have been serving up this stuff for decades and they know what they're doing. What I appreciated the most (besides the value) was that the food didn't all taste like each other like it does at lots of other diners. The food came out fast, hot and flavorful and the coffee was refilled proptly. How can I not like this place? To top it off, for $6, I got coffee, juice, toast, potatoes and an omelet. Great Value.
